The indiscriminate use of antibiotics and the problems of resistant microbes developing today is a worry for all health professionals. It was feared that unless a newer antibiotic was produced now the number of people dying from infection after a routine operation will increase dramatically in the next 20 years. Novo Biotic in USA is now developing a new antibiotic which is showing great promise.
